Assuming y'all stopped by my "About Me" page before coming here, you know the basics. With my first post I wanted to give you a little more of a casual introduction and let you get to know me (PS I have no idea what I am doing but if you're still reading this then you must be somewhat interested). My future posts will focus on home decor, home renovations, fashion/beauty, recipes, my favorite finds/deals, and whatever else is going on in life. Who knows!
Now the best way I could think of to get to know me was to play 20 questions; kinda like Vogue's 73 Questions but for the average person...Plus who has time to put pants on and clean their house for that kind of interview?!? I'll pass. Alright, here we go.
1. Do you have any nicknames?
Besides the obvious (Alex), Al, Ali, Mitten, Mittens, KittenMitten ... and the list goes on with that last name.
2. Where were you born?
Phoenix, Arizona
3. Where did you go to school?
For college I initially went to the University of Arizona. I lasted a short semester at U of A before I changed majors, moved back to Phoenix, went to local community college for pre-requisites, and then to Grand Canyon University for my BSN.
4. Why did you start a blog?
Loaded question. I decided to start a blog after thinking about it for many years. I have done a lot of different things in my life and have gone through different experiences that I feel others could relate to. I am hoping to have it as an outlet, but to also share many things. I am such a diverse person with many different interests, experiences, and passions. Stick around as I share some of my passions, lessons, and favorite things.
5. Is your blog your job? If not what do you do?
Nope, just a hobby. Keep up with me to see where this will lead. I am an Emergency Department nurse in my real life.
6. Would you rather live in a rural area or in the suburbs?
GIVE ME ALL THE LAND! *Just make sure there is a local Starbucks, Target, and Walmart within 15 minutes* The suburbs are fine for now but one day I hope to build my dream house on some land big enough for all our outdoor toys, activities and livestock.
7. What is something that would surprise someone who doesn't know you?
Since the age of 5 I grew up riding and competitively showing Arabian and Quarter horses. No, not rodeo, jumping or dressage...I have ridden and shown many different disciplines within the Arabian Horse Association. I might even have some National and Regional Championships somewhere in all those years. Through the later part of my Youth career I transitioned to the quarter horses to show within the National Reining Horse Association while working for many reining horse trainers along the way. Unfortunately that came to an end after I decided to go to nursing school.
8. What are your favorite hobbies and activities?
Besides the answer to the last question; Home decor, fashion/beauty, dirt bikes (thanks babe), anything outdoors, Pure Barre, online shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
9. What is your biggest flaw?
Leaving the laundry in the dryer.
10. What's your favorite movie?
Sweet Home Alabama.
11. What is one of your guilty pleasures?
Baths. Lots of baths!
12. Favorite Drink?
Iced Coffee, Water and Alcohol. Just being honest.
13. What’s one thing you own that you should probably get rid of, but just can’t?
All of my horse show clothes. I have no purpose for them anymore but MEMORIES am I right?!
14. What's your favorite smell?
Dirt. The absolute best smell in the world is a freshly watered and drug arena/track. #sorrynotsorry
15. What is one regret you have?
None. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason that has lead us to where we are today. I regret not learning that sooner and wasting emotions on it.
16. What are you afraid of?
ET. I have an irrational fear of ET.
17. What is something weird you collect?
I have a majority of back numbers from all the horse shows I have been to and the different horses I've competed on. Also tourist tees. Nothing says vacation more than a colorful oversized T-Shirt.
18. What is your favorite kind of music?
Literally anything...besides Classical and Jazz. Depends on my mood.
19. What is one bad habit you wish you could break?
I wish I wasn't so sarcastic... hmmm, was that sarcasm?
20. What's the single best piece of advice you ever received?
"Rub some dirt in it" & "The best is yet to come"
